Got a few BluRay discs to burn (literally)? Well the hackers over at Demonhades have figured out that you can still run BD-J homebrew via BD-R on any PS3 firmware.
Translation from Demonhades post:It appears that recording to any homebrew BD-R BD-Java, this can be run from any console from any firm.
To make it work implements have to record the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders in the root of the disk. PS3 to get it into the menu of [Video] we will bear in our BD and homebrew. I leave you a video:
From here it follows that only banned the BD-Java and the USB reader targetas Letor BD but no ban.
What do you think? Surprised? I think from this you can make the PS3 Scene reborn a bit to take it away because it took off all his scene. With this the Sony console is able to load emulators, and homebrew games Aplisa.

Now we've seen our share of fake PS3 news before and this one looks too good to be true. According to a post from Belzar.com, they are now on the verge of releasing the worlds first full-fledged direct boot modchip for the PS3 that is packed full of useful features including multi-region DVD and blu-ray movie playback.

Ok, I posted a thread a while back regarding news about a ps3 slim on youtube, with crap quality images/video's etc. But all that speculation can be dead and buried, because what do we have here? Yeah that's right, a freaking ps3 slim!

There isn't much information about it but you decide what you think of it.
Features?
- It has a 120GB HDD.
- Two USB Ports
- The 'touch' button for eject and on seems to be gone, and there are now these random buttons.
- The ps icon is now white instead of colored.
- No more card reader
- PLAYSTATION 3 is gone, rather its PS3. It says this on the bottom as well for some reason.
- The guy was selling it with a Dualshock 3. Whether it is compatible is another matter.
- The guy was selling it for 20,000 pesos, which is roughly £250, which is roughly $410

Supermodchips-Australia has stopped by our forums to share with us a guide he's created on how to fix the laser assembly in the Sony PS3. It's a set of video tutorials and might come in useful for people with older PS3's that have dying lasers (yes the PS3 lasers die just about as quickly and the PS2's did).

USB Loader v0.3 RC1 Released |

Ifcaro has released his latest build of USB Loader v0.3 RC1 for the Sony Playstation 3. Using this Loader along with a particular version of the Swap Magic disk for the PS2 you can load your legal PS2 backup collection using a USB Mass Storage device. Note that this doesn't work on newer PS3 models and is limited to those that were initially sold at launch. More detailed information can be found here. This new version is said to fix some issues with problem games and comes with two ELF's (PS2 executables) one of which is an experimental version of the loader.

Dualshock 3 Drivers for Windows Released |

A Japanese coder has released a set of drivers which will allow you to use your Dual Shock Playstation 3 controller on your Windows based PC. Since it's release $n!pR has translated the program to English (not pictured). The installation of the driver requires four steps:
The download link below contains 4 folders/drivers, below is the explanation of each:
* ds3drv_1.02 - Normal Driver
* ds3drv_dx_1.02 - DX Driver
* SDDriverSetting - Utility to tweak some settings
* ForceFeedbackDriver - Rumble Driver, you need to install the first or second driver first before doing this.
Installation:
* Download either the normal or DX driver.
* Plug in your DS3 to your PC.
* Open device manager and search for the Dualshock 3 (it will be under HID services with the title then open the device manager and search for the dualshock/sixaxis under hid devices, it should be called "USB Human Interface Device").
* Select the Normal/DX driver and install .

YDL (Yellow Dog Linux) v6.1 is now available to be downloaded. This free Linux distribution supports the Sony PS3 and distro's like this are why homebrew isn't really needed on a PS3 as you can use all of Linux's versatile programs for most of your multimedia, Internet and gaming needs.
