PSP Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-B Released
Yoshihiro and Team GEN have released their highly anticipated PSP Custom Firmware 5.03 GEN-B for all ChickHEN-enabled handhelds. This custom firmware is for PSP-3000 and TA-088v3 owners.
Core features:
- Play games (UMD or backup) requiring firmware 5.50+, including 6.xx
- Play games that introduce their own cfw detection / protection
- Play PSOne games
- Access to the VSH and Recovery Console
Known bugs:
- MGS demo refuses to run
- The Recovery mode menu is “mixed”
Keep in mind: you need a PSP-3000 or PSP-2000 with the TA-088v3 board. Your PSP also needs to be running [official] firmware 5.03; this is required for ChickHEN.

Please take yoshi's name off that. I'm not sure if he actually DID do any work. Personally I doubt it. He's a POS who doesn't deserve ANY credit for ANYTHING ever. More then likely he stole the code and released it like he had something to do with it, like everything else he's done that to.

Yoshi has had a rough past, but has recently produced an emulator on his own and if other respected sites are naming him I'll follow suite. If you have a problem with it track down the source of the release and deal with them. Sorry :/ |

I'm just saying I don't trust the dude from personal experiences in the xbox scene. I've seen him get booted from there and bounced around from scene to scene. Nothing against this release. He usually gets his name on releases because HE's the one that releases it, without the team's consent. I'm not going to bother tracking them down and asking them personally. I just like to post warnings to other devs that yoshihiro isn't as trustworthy as he looks.
Sorry about spamming and flaming up this thread. I just felt I had to once I seen his name. IF he's actually doing work with the team, I'm astonished.

Awesome news,just awesome! been waiting for this, tested will all the games that I cared and all worked!Extremely easy to use, I was using 5.03 Gen-A and took me seconds to update to 5.03 Gen-B. Gotta love all those new PSP Minis! 2 good news in a week, first the SDl Mame Wii and now this!

So for PSP 3000, you still have to load chickhen after every poweroff/reboot, then this? Or am I confusing things?

That's correct!!! That's why you always have to leave on the sleep mode instead of completely shutting down the system. |
